VAG is part of a strategic alliance with the German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ). The aim of the alliance is to prepare a practical guide on the use of pressure management systems in the field of water loss reduction. The GIZ functions as the executive organ of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project is sponsored by the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development.
VAG and its partners in the strategic alliance have published a comprehensive standard work on the theme of water loss reduction through pressure management.
The "guidelines for water loss reduction" serves as a reference book for decision-makers, engineers and maintenance staff and as instructions for implementing programmes to reduce water loss.
The manual is available free of charge from the website of the strategic alliance.
Capacity development programmes are designed to present integrated concepts for water loss management and to enhance awareness for the problem of water loss.
This includes seminars and training modules for various target groups in the water industry.
Benefits for customers of the practical application of the VAG pressure management concept are shown in pilot projects. As much as more than a million cubic metres of drinking water were saved within a year.
You can find information on the pilot projects on the website of the strategic alliance: www.waterlossreduction.com
