Cuba’s ambassador visits VAG Armaturen in Mannheim

His Excellency, the ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Gerardo Penalver and the Trade Councillor of the Cuban Embassy, Roberto Infante, visited VAG in Mannheim accompanied by SPD MP Lothar Mark. VAG-Armaturen GmbH develops and manufactures advanced valves and system solutions for the water supply and waste water disposal industry. The VAG Group with its production facilities in Germany, Czechia and China has its roots in the Mannheim-based Bopp & Reuther company, a company with a long tradition. In the Mannheim plant, which is also the VAG Group’s Centre of Excellence, special valves are manufactured to the customer’s specifications. As early as 1872, heavy-duty valves were made here in Mannheim to ensure water supply both in Germany and abroad. This makes Mannheim the location with the longest tradition within the VAG Group.

 

What was of special interest for the ambassador and the people accompanying him was a visit to VAG’s newly built Visitors Center. On an area of over 700 m² all application areas of VAG’s products in connection with water and waste water are illustrated by practical examples. On their following tour through VAG’s production facilities, the ambassador gained a detailed impression of the technologies and the special manufacturing methods used at the Mannheim-based company.

 

“The construction of our Visitors Center and the opening ceremony at the beginning of 2007 marked another step under the motto Full Speed Ahead. The market is very dynamic and keeps demanding new solutions. With our Visitors Center we want to show our customers that we understand what water is all about and are familiar with all application areas dealing with water and waste water and also that we will consistently continue our journey as a provider of system solutions. With our valves and system solutions we will give increasing importance to water as a resource and eventually supply the world’s population even in the remotest countries with this precious good,” says Peter Oppinger, Head of Marketing.
