When VAG opened its new 700 m² Visitors Center on Thursday 22 March and Friday 23 March 2007, about 350 invited guests from all over the world flocked to its gates in Mannheim, Germany

After the guests were welcomed by our Managing Director, Robert Fellner-Feldegg,
our VAG ship was officially christened to the name of Bruno by two representatives
of the City of Mannheim.
The visitors then had the opportunity of taking part in the extensive activities organised
during the opening ceremony which focused on the subjects of fresh water supply and
waste water disposal. Our guests could choose from guided visits through the new
Visitors Center, through our production facilities and through our test area. The guided
visits were offered in German and, for our guests from abroad, also in the English language.

The visitors’ active interest in VAG’s company history as well as in the range of its products
never waned and in great numbers they took part in the specialist talks given on VAG’s
products and their fields of application. Every one of the six talks had a numerous and
attentive audience, which was also due to the simultaneous interpreting into English.

Between the events, the guests were able to take some refreshments at the espresso bar or even have a meal which they could choose from the extensive catering services on offer. They could also admire the standpost hydrants ornately painted by students from the Mannheim Elisabeth Gymnasium (Grammar School).
Lobster meets Black Jack
Following the day’s events, the evening started under the motto “Lobster meets Black Jack”accompanied by a three-course dinner. The guests were enthusiastic about the gamblingcasino opened at 9:00 pm where they could play a round of roulette or Black Jack. Forthese games, Bruno Euros were used which could be exchanged into chips later on andwith which fantastic prizes could be won after the end of the games.
The L.A. Partyband entertained the visitors with background music duringthe opening event.
The second day of the opening enjoyed great popularity, too, so that despite thebad weather the inauguration ceremony was a complete success.
Family Day
To round off the festivities, an Open Day for VAG’s employees, their families and forVAG’s pensioners was held on Saturday. Starting at 10:00 am, our production facilitiesand, of course, our Visitors Center, were open to visits. In addition to this, special guidedvisits were offered for children to give even the youngest deeper insights in the significanceof water as a valuable resource. Our youngest visitors were taken care of by many other activities at their disposal: In theVAG Kinderland, they could romp around in a bouncy castle, have a button with their namemade or try out their goal-shooting skills on a soccer torwand. There was also a paintingcompetition with VAG’s Bruno the Beaver and each child was rewarded with a nice littlesurprise gift. Of course, the kids’ well-being was also catered for as they could choosefrom the great number of dishes available at the buffet. All in all, we were given a highly positive feedback from all our customers and visitors forthis great event plus the suggestion to repeat it.
