Mannheim, 30.08.2007

SPD MP Lothar Mark and city councillor Roland Weiß (SPD) visited VAG-Armaturen in Mannheim together. VAG Armaturen GmbH develops and produces advanced valves and system solutions for water supply and waste water disposal. The VAG Group, having production facilities in Germany, Czechia and China, has its roots in the Mannheim-based Bopp & Reuther company, a company with a long tradition. The Mannheim location is also the VAG Group’s Centre of Excellence and has a long tradition as well. As early as 1872, heavy-duty valves for the water supply industry were manufactured here.

During their visit, Lothar Mark (SPD MP) and the representative of the Mannheim city council were especially interested in the newly built VAG Visitors Center. On a surface of over 700 m² all application areas of VAG’s products in connection with water and waste water are illustrated by practical examples. On their following tour through VAG’s production facilities, the federal SPD representative and his colleague from the Mannheim city council gained a detailed impression of the technologies and manufacturing methods used at the Mannheim-based company.

In turn, Lothar Mark’s visit – who in his capacity as the representative of the federal SPD faction in charge of Latin America has quite a number of contacts in these countries – provided VAG the opportunity of illustrating the group’s international market presence by way of a product and technology presentation. “The valves we produce and the solutions we offer for the entire process of water extraction and the conveyance and storage of water experience increasing demand in the markets of the world. As water as a resource increasingly comes into the focus of politics, the environment and the economy, the technologies and solutions we offer are receiving more and more attention,” states VAG’s Managing Director, Engineer Robert Fellner-Feldegg.
