Yesterday, VAG welcomed the delegation from Guatemala at its Visitor Center in Mannheim.
Among the guests from Guatemala were Mrs Marcía Alejandra Sobenes, Vice Minister of the Environment, His Eminence, the Ambassador Gabriel Aguilera, Mrs Karin Beeck, the Commercial Attaché and Mr Raul Castañeda (personal assistant to the Vice Minister of the Environment). The guests from Guatemala were accompanied by MP Lothar Mark and Lutz Udo Glaser, an employee from the constituency office.
The visitors showed great interest in VAG’s Pressure Management which can help to protect the country’s partly out-of-date pipeline systems against pressure variations in the network and reduce the water losses of up to 40% caused by leaky pipes.
Furthermore, the securing of water pipes in case of pipe breaks – especially those of dams – was an important issue and such pipe breaks can be safely and reliably controlled by the application of VAG break-and-lift cylinders in connection with butterfly valves.
