On a stand surface of 150 m² JMA (a subsidiary of the VAG Group) presented itself at the Czech trade fair “Vodovody – Kanalizace 2008” in Brno held from 20 to 23 May. With over 317 exhibitors coming from 12 different countries and over 10,500 visitors, the “VODKA” is considered to be the most important exhibition of the water supply industry in Eastern Europe. Besides the exhibition of valves and the supply of information materials the expert visitors were presented with a lot more at the JMA stand.

 

In a competition, the visitors to the stand were able to learn about the advantages of the VAG BAIO^® System first hand, i.e. the easier and faster installation method as compared to the conventional flange method. They were asked to mount several valves with bayonet connection in the shortest possible time. The rush of motivated participants was so big that only the fastest “fitters” could be given a prize by JMA.

 

 

 

Another attraction was the flood control simulation on the open air site of the “VODKA”. A large water basin, several EROX^® sluice gates of up to a nominal width of DN 1000 and a ROTOP^® actuator were used to illustrate for the interested audience how the valves function in the event of an imminent flood risk.
