At the beginning of 2008, Halder Beteiligungsberatung GmbH (Investment Consultancy), together with the VAG Management acquired VAG-Armaturen GmbH Mannheim from Equita Management GmbH in the framework of a management buyout. This transaction is subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Authority. By this transaction, VAG’s experienced management further increased its interest in the company.
VAG-Armaturen GmbH, based in Mannheim, develops and produces modern valves and system solutions for water supply and waste water disposal and does business world-wide. VAG’s business activities include the production of valves and project planning of water supply systems. At its Mannheim headquarters, VAG has a production area of about 30,000 m². In addition to this, VAG operates further production plants in Czechia and China. Around the globe, VAG meanwhile employs about 930 people of which about 220 work at the Mannheim location. “As compared to the previous year, we have been able to further increase our sales, and the number of employees working at our Mannheim headquarters – the Centre of Excellence within the Group – has increased by nearly 10 %,” says Industrial Engineer Robert Fellner-Feldegg, VAG’s Managing Director. The annual turnover of the VAG Group amounts to over € 100 m.
Besides the existing VAG subsidiaries in China, India, the UK, Czechia, Poland and Hungary, further VAG distribution companies were established in Malaysia, South Africa and Chile last year. Via its global distribution network, VAG’s over 130 sales representatives take care of its demanding customers all around the globe.
Together with Halder, VAG is planning to further develop its international activities within the next few years and to make considerable investments both in Mannheim and in its foreign subsidiaries.
