VAG RIKO® Plunger Valve DN 1600

May 7, 2008

Presentation of the redesigned VAG RIKO® Plunger Valve for control functions up to nominal diameter 1600 mm at the Trade Fair for water, sewage, refuse and recycling (IFAT).

The VAG RIKO® Plunger Valve precisely controls the pressure in the pipeline system and guarantees a constant water supply – any time, under all conditions in perfect coordination of flow rate and system pressure.

VAG-Armaturen has redesigned the Plunger Valve for control tasks that has proven itself for decades in water supply systems. The new VAG RIKO® Plunger Valve is universally available in nominal diameters 150 up to 1600 mm and in pressure rating ranges PN 10 to 40. The compact and single-piece body is made of high quality ductile cast iron GGG-40. All internal parts up to nominal diameter 600 mm are made completely of stainless steel. One major advantage are the new piston guidings made of bronze welded overlay for all nominal diameters up to nominal diameter 1600 mm. New sealing systems for pistons, shaft bearings and seats guarantee corrosion protection and high performance, combined with a long service life. Depending on operational characteristics there are a variety of outlet shapes available to prevent cavitation. The individual design of the valves and outlet shapes is done by using VAG’s UseCAD® software.

Plunger Valves are designed for control functions in water supply systems. Unlike Butterfly and Gate Valves assuming only shut-off functions in pipeline systems, Plunger Valves meet the special requirements of control operations. VAG Plunger Valves are suitable for drinking water at temperatures of up to 50° C. From its linear control characteristic the RIKO® Plunger Valve ensures optimal cavitation behaviour with minimal pressure losses.
