VAG Armaturen GmbH achieves ISO 14001:2004 accreditation
On September 14, 2011, VAG-Armaturen GmbH was awarded ISO 14001:2004 accreditation by TÜV SÜD. This certifies the introduction and implementation of an environmental management system (EMS). With the implementation of an environmental management system, VAG is setting a new benchmark for sustainable growth and corporate social responsibility. Among the company’s objectives are the reduction of waste and environmental pollution, environmental protection and the economical use of resources. Read more

VAG-Group at the ACE11 in Washington D.C.
This year the Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE) of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) was held in Washington, D.C., from 12th - 16th June. The VAG-Group was not only represented by the North American subsidiary VAG Valves USA, but also by staff members from Europe and Mexico. The booth the VAG-Group presented was most impressive for the market to see and did not only offer the opportunity to get acquainted with the valves but also for discussion in a relaxed atmosphere. Midcaps investor Halder, Frankfurt, has entered into a binding agreement for the sale of its majority stake in VAG-Armaturen GmbH Mannheim to Rexnord LLC, Wisconsin, USA. The transaction is subject to the customary approval process. Read more

VAG Sponsors Training for Young Firefighters
It is not only in small towns and municipalities that volunteer fire brigades are on the spot in emergencies. In Germany, only 102 of a total of 2,000 towns have a fire service. This means that the majority of fire control operations are performed by voluntary male and female firefighters. Read more

Valve training now part of the VAG Academy
Last week, the international valve training courses took place again at the VAG Group’s Mannheim headquarters. For the first time this year, these training courses for employees and agencies of the VAG Group, which have been held twice per year since 2007, were held under the concept of the VAG Academy. The target of the VAG Academy is professional training and further training in the field of valves. Read more

RIKO Offensive – Winners of the second round

Duplex steel valves DN 2000 for Dutch power plant
At the beginning of this month, VAG supplied the first DN 2000 butterfly valves made entirely of duplex stainless steel. In the year 2007, construction work for a new coal-fired power plant began in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Besides coal, the power plant is also to be fired with biomass and is designed to achieve an efficiency of 46%. Read more

Donation handed over to children’s hospice “Sterntaler”
Last Tuesday, a donation to the children’s hospice “Sterntaler” was handed over at the Maritim Hotel in Mannheim. The Maritim Hotel, Europcar and the VAG Group jointly collected over € 3,000 for the extension of this institution. Read more
