VAG’s successful participation in the IWE 2008 Tehran
From 26 October to 1 November 2008 VAG took part again in the International Water and Waste Water Exhibition in Iran. VAG was the only European valve manufacturer exhibiting at this fair and the valves we presented at our 24 m² stand included a VAG RIKO® Plunger Valve, a VAG EKN® Butterfly Valve and VAG SKR Slanted Seat Tilting Disk Checkback Valve.

In our shipping department, a VAG RIKO® Plunger Valve DN 800/900/1000 is being packed up for shipping. Why it is so black on the inside? This is due to its Inertol-Poxitar® bituminous coating. It is the preferred coating material for use with media having an increased proportion of abrasive substances.

Veolia Eau visits Mannheim for final acceptance of VAG EKN® DN 2000 Butterfly Valve
On 9 September 2008, the project managers of Veolia Eau (Paris, France) paid a visit to VAG’s Mannheim headquarters for the final acceptance of a VAG EKN® DN 2000 Butterfly Valve. They came on behalf of S.E.D.I.F., a French water supply company, and were accompanied by our distribution partner Georg Fischer.

After long journey hollow-jet valve arrives safe and sound in Ethiopia
The Tekeze dam in Ethiopia holds 9 billion cubic metres of water and has a crest height of 185 m. This is another 10 m higher than the crest of the Three Gorges Dam in China. With this hydro-power project, 300 megawatts of energy are to be generated.

Delegates from Chinese water authority visit Mannheim for final inspection and acceptance of VAG RIKO® Plunger Valves
Last week, VAG welcomed employees from the Chinese water authority who had made the way from China for the final inspection and acceptance of a total of six RIKO® Plunger Valves with a diameter of 1.60 m and another ten VAG control valves with diameters ranging from DN 800 to DN 1400.

Being one of the leading trade fairs for water distribution and disposal of waste water in Eastern Europe, ECWATECH attracted 656 exhibitors and almost 10,000 visitors on an exhibition area of more than 10,000 m².

JMA represents the VAG Group at the “Vodovody – Kanalizace 2008” in Czechia
On a stand surface of 150 m2 JMA (a subsidiary of the VAG Group) presented itself at the Czech trade fair “Vodovody – Kanalizace 2008” in Brno held from 20 to 23 May. With over 317 exhibitors coming from 12 different countries and over 10,500 visitors, the “VODKA” is considered to be the most important exhibition of the water supply industry in Eastern Europe. Besides the exhibition of valves and the supply of information materials the expert visitors were presented with a lot more at the JMA stand.

At the beginning of 2008, Halder Beteiligungsberatung GmbH (Investment Consultancy), together with the VAG Management acquired VAG-Armaturen GmbH Mannheim from Equita Management GmbH in the framework of a management buyout. This transaction is subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Authority. By this transaction, VAG’s experienced management further increased its interest in the company.
