Water must be safe

Water is considered to be the oil of the 21st century and the sustainable use of this resource has top priority on the agenda of many countries. The treatment of industrial effluents and other kinds of wastewater all over the world is one of the ways to smartly handle this resource – for example, by using the water for irrigation after treatment.

One thing that is closely connected with the subject of water is its safety. This is why the United Nations recognised the supply of clean water without any toxic substances to all people as one of their millennium goals.

The VAG-Group also contributes to this goal. It supports an initiative which ensures that pipelines carrying pretreated wastewater can be clearly distinguished from drinking water pipelines. “There has been an international understanding to identify pipeline systems carrying pretreated wastewater by the colour purple,” explains Peter Oppinger, Marketing Director of the VAG-Group.

In 2016, 340 valves in colour RAL 4001 (red purple) were delivered to this company.
