07/06/2010 - IWA Water Loss 2010

This year’s IWA Water Loss 2010 conference took place from 6 to 9 July at Latin America’s largest conference centre in São Paulo, Brazil.

For the sixth time, representatives from all over the world got together to discuss new developments, technologies and applications for the reduction of water losses. Meanwhile, this conference has established itself as an international standard for experts in the field of water loss reduction.

06/14/2010 - Keep moving: VAG starts 10,000 steps campaign

Under the motto “We do not only move water but keep moving ourselves”, VAG initiated a “10,000 steps team competition”. Its target was to collect as many steps as possible over a period of five weeks. 10,000 steps per day was the suggested standard.

05/18/2010 - VAG-Valves UK awarded Thames Water Framework

VAG-Valves UK has been awarded the prestigious “Thames Water Framework” for the supply of control valves and stainless steel penstocks.

05/12/2010 - VAG Spring Conference 2010 - Volcano ash also affects VAG

Of the originally enrolled 80 participants from 35 countries, 39 participants eventually managed to reach VAG’s headquarters in Mannheim this year. The closure of the airspace over Europe caused by the ash coming from the eruption of the Icelandic volcano made travelling to Mannheim impossible for many participants.

04/26/2010 - VAG hands over donation to hospital hit by earthquake in Santiago de Chile

Last week, the VAG Group was able to hand over a donation cheque in the amount of € 10,000 to the Dr Felix Bulnes hospital in Santiago de Chile, the hospital which was destroyed by the earthquake.

04/20/2010 - Asia Water 2010 – VAG wins price for best exhibition stand

This year’s Asia Water, the trade fair for the water and waste water industry, took place in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) from 6 to 8 April. In the course of Asia’s largest water fair, almost 10,000 interested visitors met over 500 exhibitors on an exhibition area of 10,000 m².

03/18/2010 - VAG Valves UK, “Building a Stronger Team”

VAG Valves UK in Partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) are undertaking a 2 year graduate development programme.

02/17/2010 - First symposium on “Valves in Nuclear Power Plants”

From 9 to 10 February 2010, the first symposium on the subject of valves in nuclear power plants took place at VAG’s Mannheim headquarters.

During the two-day event, guests from ten German nuclear power plant locations attended expert talks, went on a guided tour through VAG’s Visitor Center and were also able to gain insights into the manufacture of special valves at the Mannheim plant.

11/19/2009 - VAG Autumn Conference 2009

From 9 to 13 November, this year’s VAG Autumn Conference took place at the headquarters of VAG-Armaturen GmbH in Mannheim. The Autumn Conference includes a 4-day valve training programme on four different training levels and is completed by an exam at the end.

10/02/2009 - Exchange of rings at the nuclear power plant

Our service department is currently overhauling the second DN 2200 cooling water valve from a nuclear power plant in southern Germany. The valve is being overhauled in the context of an exchange of rings.

09/18/2009 - Preserving valuable items from the 1950s

A well-preserved non-return valve from the 1950s has just been delivered to VAG by one of our customers.

09/08/2009 - New trainees welcomed at VAG

For some years now, new trainees at VAG have been welcomed by the Human Resources Manager and the second- and third-year trainees in the context of an introductory day.

08/27/2009 - VAG teams successful in the 14th Canadian Canoe City Championship

From 22 to 23 August, this year’s 14th open Canadian Canoe City Championship organised by the Lampertheim Water Sports Club took place. For the first time, two teams from VAG-Armaturen GmbH were among the 33 teams entered for the competition.

08/06/2009 - Robert Fellner-Feldegg awarded Professorship

The Managing Director of the VAG Group, Mr Fellner-Feldegg, Industrial Engineer, has recently been honoured with a Professorship. Mr Fellner-Feldegg was awarded the title of visiting professor for a 3-year period on 30 June by the Tongji University in Shanghai.
