Can control valves be used for any purpose?

A VAG control valve is always designed for a special purpose to achieve the best regulation without cavitation.

What information is needed to design a safe control valve?

The purpose (for example, to control a pump that is used to start or control the flow rate of a reservoir or to control a bottom outlet), the minimum and maximum flow rate to determine the size of the valve, the static and dynamic inlet pressures and back pressures to determine the control's purpose.

What is the purpose of the control modules in the plunger valve?

Control modules reduce the unit’s pressure energy to prevent cavitation and improve the unit’s controllability.

Can a control valve be designed for minimum pressure loss?

A control valve is the variable resistance in a piping system. A resistance, and hence a pressure loss, must be created to change the flow rate.

Can valves be installed in front of and behind a plunger valve?

A distance of 1 to 3 x DN should be kept in front of the plunger valve. A minimum distance of 10 x DN must be kept behind a plunger valve because the plunger valve creates a jet that makes valves or elbows oscillate.
